Gift Box feature 1- Get The Bag! (Ohio)

 

Gloria Ware, founder and owner of "Get the Bag" has been ordering stickers from me to include in her gift boxes to corporate teams for over a year now and I wanted to give her a shout out. There have been several companies who've included my products or books in gift boxes and I'm going to start featuring some of them as a way to promote them, and to share another way of getting revenue for young artists.

Besides sending out gift boxes Gloria Ware (Based in Cleveland Ohio) runs Get the Bag which lifts up Black female founders of start ups and small businesses by:

-Giving them access to multiple forms of capital

-Providing content and curriculum for business knowledge

-Helping to promote their businesses

Children's Portrait collage (5) - 2020-2022

What up? This is a collage of children's and family portraits I've painted over the past two years. I started these paintings in 2012 before I self published "Furqan's First Flat Top" as a way to generate income to make the book and to let parents know that I planned to make my own children's book. You can see me talk about it in this video from 2012.

Since publishing the book, I continued and I like painting them. They provide value to parents, grandparents, caregivers, etc and I think they're a cool gift idea for the holidays or special occasions. I've painted whole families, newborns, kids, and teens. And I plan to continue doing it.

Children's portrait 69 - Charnaie's Kids

 

This portrait is a long time in the making. I painted these for Charnaie of her daughter and son finally after taking over 2 years to do it. Pretty soon I will make a video about my kids book portraits and this painting will be part of it. I messed up on the color of their shirts but fixed it in the end. I just finished painting this portrait of these two sisters who are part of a beautiful Blasian Bay Area family. Shannan E Johnson - Screenwriter coach

 

I stumbled upon this channel that interviews filmmakers and people who work in the film industry. One of the people who immediately stuck out to me was Shannan E. Johnson for her to the point descriptions of story structure, outlining of story, and tips like this one about activity in a story. 

If you havent seen her Youtube channel or Instagram page please go check it out. I think her tips on story are helpful for comics, kids books, and any story really because they force you to think! She also teaches and consults with people. Check out her site:

Painted this little one last year but forgot to post it. Parents asked that the name not be shared but its a girl :)

What are these? These are children's portraits I paint custom for aunts, uncles, moms, dads, care givers, families and more. I've been painting them for nearly a decade. They're fun to paint and unique ways of giving someone a gift. Although the majority of these are of children and families, I paint young adults and adults too.
